Idolatry consists of any form of worship; whether it is material trappings or those of theological persuasion. Under the guise of anthropomorphism (god like us; a failed argument), the conceptualization of the Christian god exemplifies its disdain towards humanities vows towards other deities; this is disclosed as the first of the Ten Commandments issued to Moses; supposedly. The very fact that god would articulate this demand suggests an atheistic bent towards humanity exercising varied beliefs amid other entities. For example: a Christian who does not believe in the god of Islam; by definition is atheistic (without the belief) towards Allah. A Muslim who denies the existence of the Christian god is also atheistic (without the belief) towards Christianity. I agree with Sam Harris that the word “Atheism” should not even exist at all; as the term indirectly acknowledges what a god is initially. However, sense it is a distinct contrarian assertion against the tenets of religionists, god also fits into the category of an atheist as well; it is against the beliefs of all other gods before it…a narcissistic atheist at that.
I guess the bible does inculcate some kernels of truth after all: “God created man in the image of himself”- Genesis 1:27. That’s why we are atheists.
